There are many opportunities to support adult literacy at the Chandler Public Library. The program depends on the service of trained volunteers. Volunteers are:
  • Learning Lab Tutors - providing one-on-one assistance to learners of all ages.
  • Tutors - working with small groups to improve English and basic literacy skills.
  • Talk Time Facilitators - leading English conversation sessions.
  • GED Pathfinders - providing advisement to those learners participating in an independent study program for the GED

Volunteer orientation workshops are held each month to let potential volunteers know about our library, our program, what we offer and what you can expect as a volunteer. Check the events calendar for information on our next orientation! In-depth training sessions are held for each volunteer opportunity. These sessions outline specific techniques and resources needed to be successful.

Whatever time commitment you can make, we welcome your efforts!
