Here's how to add the library to your contacts list in
different email services. This will prevent our emails (holds and
overdue notification) to you from being sent to the bulk/trash/spam
folder.
Cox AND Home
- Log into your COX email account using your internet
browser.
- Click on the 'Settings' button Click on the ' Allow
and Block Messages" link.
- You have 2 choices: Do not use advanced block
sender and domains functionality.
- Activate advanced blocking features.
If option # 1 is selected, you should receive our emails
with no problem
If option #2 is selected, do the following: In the
'Exceptions' enter the following addresses: ci.chandler.az.us
chandlerlibrary.org chandleraz.gov
You can also define a "Filter" to allow or
place Chandler Public Library emails in to your inbox or a special folder
if you desire. Instructions are located in the 'Message Filter' area.
Gmail
Once you've logged into Gmail, you simply go to your
Contacts List in the menu at left, and add the email address you do not
want marked as spam. From Google's Help Center:
How do I prevent mail from being marked as spam?
Make sure you've added your friends' email addresses to
your Contacts list. Gmail always delivers messages from your contacts.
Hotmail
There are 2 ways to
ensure you receive library notices:
- Login to your Hotmail account.
- Click on 'Options' on Top Right of screen.
- Click on 'Junk E-Mail Protection' on left side of the
screen.
- Click on 'Safe List' on left side of the screen.
- Type ci.chandler.az.us in the 'Add' box.
- Click Add Type chandlerlibrary.org in the 'Add' box.
- Click 'Add.'
- Click Add Type chandleraz.gov in the 'Add' box.
- Click 'Add.'
OR
- Click on 'Contacts.'
- Click on 'New' on left of screen.
- Fill out information to include the ci.chandler.az.us
as one contact and chandlerlibrary.org as another, and chandleraz.gov
as a third.
- Click 'Save' at top left of screen for each entry.
Mac OSX Mail Program
In the standard Mac OSX "Mail" program (that
comes with every Mac), click on "Mail" on the top menu bar, then
on "Preferences," and then on "Junk Mail," and you'll
see the following:
(checkbox) Enable Junk Mail filtering
When Junk Mail arrives:
- (checkbutton) Leave it in my Inbox, but indicate it
is Junk Mail (Training)
- (checkbutton) Move it to the Junk mailbox (Automatic)
The following types of messages are exempt from junk
filtering:
- (checkbox) Sender of message is in my Address
Book
- (checkbox) Sender of message is in my Previous
Recipients
- (checkbox) Message is addressed using my full name
- (checkbox) Trust Junk Mail headers set by your
Internet Service Provider
NetZero.com and NetZero.net
- Login to your NetZero webmail account.
- GO to the 'Settings, Email Features' link at the top
right of the page.
- Under the Filtering Column, go to the 'Do Not Block'
Link and click it.
- In the 'Add Address to Do Not Block List' box, type sirsi@ci.chandler.az.us,
sirsi@chandleraz.gov, infodesk@chandlerlibrary.org
and click add.
Outlook and Outlook Express
Outlook and Outlook Express are mail programs that rely on
the settings of your provider to obtain your emails. If you use these
programs, you must set up your email through your provider to allow
library notices to reach you. Please look at your specific provider on
this page to get theses settings. If your provider is not listed, please
contact them directly and ask how to add ci.chandler.az.us, chandleraz.gov
and
chandlerlibrary.org to your allowed email senders list.
Yahoo
- Log in to Yahoo Mail.
- Click 'Addresses.'
- Click 'Add contact.'
- Fill out information to include the ci.chandler.az.us
as a contact.
- Click 'Save and add another.'
- Fill out information to include chandleraz.gov as a contact.
- Click 'Save and add another.'
- Fill out information to include chandlerlibrary.org
as a contact.
- Click 'Save.'
