Mission
The Friends help to focus public attention on the library through annual events and special programs, and to promote growth of the library's resources through financial and volunteer support.
Vision
The Friends of the Chandler Public Library is a non-profit, volunteer organization committed to supporting the Chandler Public Library System in serving the community.
History
Local Chandler and East Valley citizens organized the Friends of the Chandler Public Library in 1981, recognizing that libraries require support, both in the form of volunteers and dollars, in order to serve their communities. Since that time and through substantial commitment, the Friends have provided resources for an extensive list of programs. From summer reading programs for kids and adults to Books for Babies, to assisting with the Teen Independent Film Festival and many author events, the Friends provide added value to the four branch libraries.
