2014 New Year's Resolutions

We can help!

Here are some ideas for your 2014 New Year's Resolutions and we have some ideas on how to keep them!

Quick reads, long reads, teen reads, or kid reads -- we can help. If you're looking for ideas for good books, follow us on our More Than Books blog for reviews from library staff. Check out our book lists page for suggestions and reading resources. Or, head to Zinio to read current magazines on your smartphone or tablet. Or maybe you really want to join a book club? We've got those, too. Head to our Book Clubs page to find out meeting times and book picks.

Create a New Resume

Visit our Job Resource Center at our Downtown Library! The Job Resource Center is for job seekers who need assistance in preparing for and finding jobs. Customers are assisted with developing and creating resumes, cover letters, e-mail accounts, downloading documents to submit on-line, registering with the Maricopa Workforce Connection site, and referrals to the Gilbert Job Center when more services are needed.  In addition to our Job Resource Center we have lots of other resources for employment HERE.

Get Healthy

Find tips to get healthy in our online databases and other resources HERE.

Learn a New Craft

Check out our collection of eMagazines, eBooks, or just browse our shelves. We also have classes at all of our libraries to help you or your kids learn how to make terrific crafts! Check out our calendar HERE!

Learn a New Language

Always wanted to be able to speak a foreign language like French or Pirate? If you have a Chandler Library card we have a couple of FREE online programs to get you started. Mango uses videos, audio and more to immerse you in the language you want to learn. Rocket Languages is another great program to teach you a new language for the new year.

You can volunteer right here in your library. We have opportunities for adults, teens and families! See our Volunteering page HERE to get more information and applications.
