Renewing Materials
How do I renew my books?
"Renewing materials" means you haven't finished them and want to check them out for a little longer. All materials except feature film videos and DVDs can be renewed twice, unless another user has placed a hold on the material.. After that, the items must be returned to the library.

Library materials may be renewed in one of three ways.

1) You can call the library at 480-782-2801 and ask a staff member to renew your items for you.

2) You can bring your materials to the library Circulation/Check Out Desk and have a staff member renew the items for you.

3) You can renew the items yourself online. From the homepage (chandlerlibrary.org) click the My Account button from the list on the left.  Or, click here:

  • You will see a short blue bar near the center the page labeled "My Account."  Below this bar are two links: Review My Account and Renew My Materials.  Click Renew My Materials.
  • Enter your library card number as your User ID.  Your library card number is the 14-digit barcode number on the back of your card, with no spaces.  Then enter your 4-digit PIN.  Call 480-782-2801 if you have forgotten or need to reset your PIN.
  • You will see a list of the materials that you currently have checked out.  You may choose to Renew Selected Items by checking the boxes, or choose Renew all items.  When you have made your selection, click the Renew Selected Items button.
  • You will then see a confirmation screen listing all items renewed and the new due date.  Items that have already been renewed twice, items that have been requested by another user, Popular Picks, and Interlibrary Loan items cannot be renewed.
