Wireless @ your library

1. Turn on your device. ""

2.  Connect to the “Chandler Library (branch name)” network (most devices connect automatically).

3.  Launch your web browser.

Chandler Public Library offers WorldWideWeb access, but not all sites are accessible.  Mail servers and websites using non-standard ports may be blocked.

Just as with our wired computers, a network-wide filter is in operation.  Some websites are blocked to facilitate the best use of our Internet connection and allow all patrons to enjoy these services.

Wireless connection to our network requires that you follow our Electronic Resources Policy.

What if I can’t connect?

  1. Click the wireless network icon in your system tray (lower right corner).  Make sure the Chandler Library (branch name) network is connected and click the connect button if it is not.

  2. Right-click the wireless network icon and choose “Repair.”

  3. Restart your browser and/or reboot your computer if it still does not connect.

Other troubleshooting tips

  1. If you are connecting through a proxy server, disable it.
-In Internet Explorer, go to Tools – Internet Options – Connections – LAN settings
-Uncheck the "Use a proxy server" option.

  2. If you are using a firewall, try disabling it.

  3. If there is another network connection enabled, try disabling it.

  4. If you are using a browser other than Internet Explorer, try using Internet Explorer instead.  Other browsers may not be compatible with our network software.

Wireless network settings

If you would like to manually configure your network settings, use the following properties:

  • Connection Type – Access Point

  • Wireless Mode – AUTO

  • Network Type SSID – leave blank

  • Wireless Connection – DHCP

  • Obtain an IP address automatically

  • Obtain DNS server address automatically

Windows XP users: if you get a "No wireless networks" message:

  • Click Start – Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services.

  • Scroll down the list to Wireless Zero Configuration.

  • Double-click Wireless Zero Configuration.

  • In the Startup type list, click Automatic, then Apply.

  • In the Service status area, click Start, then OK.

Older versions of XP do not have proper wireless support; you will need to download Service Pack 2.

How to Print
We do not have a wireless print server.  To print, you will need to be able to access your print job from one of our computers.  Try one of the following:

  • Save your file onto a flash drive
  • Save your file onto a floppy or CD
  • Email the file to yourself

Log into one of our computers to access your file.  Ask for help if you don't have a library card.
