Breaking In follows Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor's professional career. Her memoir, My Beloved World, was one of my favorite books last year, and focused more on her upbringing and personal life. Breaking In is an excellent follow-up that fills in the gaps, showing us her path and how she was assisted from law student, to assistant DA, boutique firm lawyer, etc. I think the two books balance each other well.
It was also very interesting to learn more about the deals made in making a nomination to the Supreme Court and what is involved. I really don't think this is what our forefathers had in mind. The book was well written and pretty easy to read. If you'd like to learn more about Sonia Sotomayor's law career, then this book is for you. - Rosanna (Downtown)
