I really enjoyed Hello from the Gillespies. It was very refreshing after reading quite a few "dark" books. The book's title comes from the main character's e-mail subject line of her annual Christmas letter. Each year for 30+ years she's sent out all the wonderful, cheerful highlights of the past year. This year she is fed up, burned out, and thinking of how her life could have been. Haven't we all wondered what could have been if we'd made different choices?
At first I thought this book might flow like a "Shopaholic" book, and while it did have some chuckles along the way, it was to show how real the characters were. The whole family of characters were well developed and I think people will be able to identify with at least one, if not more. - Rosanna (Downtown)
