I first thought The Summer of Good Intentions was going to be a light, fluffy, beach read. While it would be a great beach read, it is not light and fluffy.
Every summer the Herinton sisters spend time at their family beach house in Cape Cod, getting away from their everyday lives. This year there are changes; their parents are divorced, one sister is having a flirtation, another wants another baby, and the third sister is having some health issues.
This book is enjoyable because these sisters are all realistic in their relationships with each other, as well as with other characters. It is easy to identify with each of the sisters at different times throughout the book. We all may have been faced with some of their issues at one time or another.
If you're looking for something to read on your summer getaway, but want a little more substance, this is your book. - Rosanna (Downtown)
