What brings parents and children from all over the city to Chandler Public Libraries? A very special part of parenthood and early child development that Chandler Public Library is proud to be a part of: Storytime.
Storytime in Chandler is special for many reasons. At Chandler Public Library there are dedicated and caring youth staff who are passionate about early literacy for children ages 0-5. There is also an excellent literacy piece that helps prepare your child to become a reader and elevates Chandler Public Library’s Storytimes called High Five.
High Five is a great early literacy addition to Storytimes at Chandler Public Library. As a parent who comes to one of the Storytimes, you are introducing or reinforcing the five key concepts offered throughout the program: Talk, Sing, Read, Write, and Play. Every week we distribute cards that you get to keep, packed with informative tips and suggestions to incorporate the five practices into your child’s world. The program is continuous, and you can attend no matter where the youth staff are with the cards. Chandler Public Library welcomes all types of toddler and preschool-aged learners.
Over the next few months Chandler Public Library will be discussing each of the five High Five early literacy program components in greater detail. At Chandler Public Library, your child is important. Let Chandler Public Library help you with your child on their path to literacy. Check the Storytime schedule, find events and books for children ages 0-5 (including Caldecott award winning picture books), or get more information about High Five.
