I am turning 50 this year, just like the characters in The Year We Turned Forty. I'm also a sucker for books that present an alternate choice in life. While I don't feel the need to go back to age 40 in my life, I enjoyed seeing the changes each character made with the intention of not only making their lives better, but also that of their loved ones.
Thinking that everything would be exactly the same as it was ten years ago, Jessie, Gabriela, and Claire soon realized that some things were different and altered the plans each one had to change their destiny.
The characters were real, and not always likeable, but in the end I thought I'd like to sit and have coffee (or wine) with this group. I'm glad they traveled back in time so I don't have to! - Rosanna (Downtown)
