As summer approaches, so does the Summer Reading Program. This yearly tradition is eagerly awaited by children, teens, and adults alike. For teens, the program is not just a fun way to pass the time, but also a way to earn valuable volunteer service hours.
Volunteering at the Summer Reading table is one of the important ways teens can be involved. At the table they will provide families with information, help with signing up and logging points, and hand out prizes. These tasks are all crucial to the success of the Summer Reading Program and would be impossible to complete without teen volunteers.
Interested teens ages 12-18 should attend a Summer Teen Volunteer Overview at the library where they will be volunteering. There they will learn about each location’s available opportunities and receive information needed to get started working with the Summer Reading table, special programs, and more. Please note that some dates require registration. Visit the Volunteers page to download an application.
