Be honest, did you binge watch the entire first season of the Netflix hit series Stranger Things before you even realized what you were doing? If so, what kept you glued to the screen? Were you overcome with nostalgia for life in the 80s? Completely engrossed in the supernatural aspect? Or was it the coming-of-age, childhood adventure angle that pulled you in?
Well, whatever reeled you in and kept you hooked for the full ride, we’ve got a few book suggestions to tide you over until Season Two.
Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
The Girl with All the Gifts by M.R. Carey
Neverland by Douglas Clegg
Boy’s Life by Robert McCammon
Disappearance at Devil’s Rock by Paul Tremblay
Broken Monsters by Lauren Beukes
The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman
To keep the creepy going, you might also want to attend Chandler Basha Library’s program Ghost Hunting 101 with The COPS Crew on Wednesday, October 19th. We’ll be learning about local investigations, as well as the equipment and science involved in ghost hunting. Registration is required and the program is suitable for adults and teens.
Hopefully these suggestions will keep all you Stranger Things fans binge reading until Season Two is released. And for those of you who haven’t watched it yet….what are you waiting for!?
