The City of Chandler has named Dan Lee as the new manager of the Chandler Public Library. For the past 15 years, Lee had been serving as the Assistant Library Manager. His promotion was announced last week by Chandler Community Services Director Brenda Brown, the previous Library Manager.
“Dan has served the City and the Library for 27 years, with his responsibilities steadily progressing as his value to our organization has grown,” Brown said. “He is known throughout the City for his natural curiosity, innovative approach to problem solving and great customer service. He is ethical, open and approachable.”
When he started working for the Chandler Library in 1990, Dan Lee was the only employee overseeing the Information Technology needs of the staff and Library customers. There was only one Chandler Library, the computers used floppy discs, and most people had never heard of the Internet. Since then, Lee has been involved in the design and construction of all four Chandler libraries, as well as every aspect of Library technology infrastructure. He has been a member of the Library Leadership team for the past 15 years, and has established himself as a trusted voice on technical projects throughout the City.
“I am excited and deeply honored to take on the role of Library Manager with the City of Chandler. I have had an active role in managing the Chandler Library operations for more than 25 years, so I know firsthand what an outstanding organization it is. I believe the Library’s excellence is a reflection of the City of Chandler’s commitment to providing residents high quality of life through innovation, diversity, and superior customer service. I feel privileged to have the opportunity to continue that tradition of excellence.”
“I am confident that Dan possesses the leadership qualities and vision that the Library needs to continue to provide quality services and programs for library visitors, both in person and online,” Brown said. “His knowledge about library operations, attention to emerging technologies, and positive relationship with staff are additional reasons that I am very excited about the future of Chandler Public Library!”
