March means Spring Break! The library has things to do for kids, teens, and even adults - no passport required!
Our Spring Reading Program is in swing for kids ages 4-12. Sponsored by In-N-Out Burger®, kids can sign up for the “Cover to Cover Club” by dropping in at the library and asking for a reading log. Reading five books earns one certificate with a coupon for a free hamburger or cheeseburger at In-N-Out Burger®, and each child can get up to three certificates. The program goes until Apr. 15 while supplies last.
Kids’ and teens’ programs at the library during the week of Mar. 6 (Kyrene School District spring break) and the weeks of Mar. 13 and 20 (CUSD intersession) include:
Teen Tech Week: Design and build cardboard arcade games. Sunset Library, Mar. 6 or Mar. 10 at 3 p.m.
Make It Like They Used To: Find out how games, candles, and more were made in the past. Hosted by the Chandler Museum at all four locations: Sunset Library on Mar. 9 at 3:30 p.m., Hamilton Library on Mar. 16 at 1 p.m., Downtown Library on Mar. 20 at 10 a.m. or Basha Library on Mar. 24 at 10 a.m.
Spring Break Movies at the Chandler Downtown Library: The Book of Life on Mar. 15 at 2 p.m. and How to Train Your Dragon 2 on Mar. 22 at 2 p.m.
VERTEX Maker Day: Stop in with the whole family and explore hands-on activities in science, technology, engineering, art and math. Hamilton Library on Mar. 18 between 3 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Adults can join us at our newest Life Hack program, Vegetable Gardening, at Basha Library on Mar. 18 at 11 a.m. Please register at our website.
