Schools in Chandler are on fall break, and Chandler’s neighbors will be on break soon. How to keep the kids occupied? See what your library has to offer!
Crafty tweens, teens, and adults can all visit the Downtown Chandler Library for Upcycle Clipboard Art, October 3 at 10 a.m. Visit our website to register.
Kids age 6 - 8 can learn about Chandler’s cowboy history with Life on a Cattle Drive, presented by the Chandler Museum. This traveling presentation will visit Basha Library on October 3 at 2 p.m., Downtown Chandler Library on October 4 at 1 p.m., and Hamilton Library on October 5 at 1 p.m. No registration is required.
Basha Library hosts two more special events next week! Star Wars Reads Day is October 10 at 2 p.m., for teens and tweens from galaxies far, far away (and this one, too). Younger kids - up to age 8 - can enjoy a visit from Ronald McDonald on October 13 at 2 p.m. No registration is required for these programs but space is limited.
Grownups have things to do, too! Hear Navy veteran Jack Holder relate his World War II stories in Adrenaline, Excitement and Fear on October 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the Downtown Chandler Library. Monopoly fans can join the tournament at Hamilton Library’s Late Night Recess on October 7 at 6 p.m.
Don’t forget there’s plenty of reading to do! Try Tumblebooks for interactive kids’ ebooks that read along with your child. Kids and adults can all find books and audiobooks to download from Cloud Library, and magazines from RBdigital. They’re all free with your library card, and available even when the library’s closed (which we are on Columbus Day, October 9).
