Don’t bother thinking that you have The Wife Between Us all figured out as you read it, because you won’t figure it out. The ending has a surprising plot twist and you have to connect the dots to get there.
It’s a very typical story of an egomaniac who marries someone he thinks is the "perfect" woman, but lo and behold, she's just a normal, everyday gal. He begins to show what a jerk he really is because he's not getting what he thought he was getting. He will not put up with any imperfections while he is living in his fairytale world.
Told in alternating voices, the story has depth and dimension instead of coming off as a "poor me, spurned wife" story. The tag line for the book is “assume nothing.” Keep reminding yourself of that as you make your way through the book and be prepared for the whiplash you will experience through all of the twists and turns.
This would be good for fans of The Last Mrs. Parrish, although The Wife Between Us is a little more intricate. - Rosanna (Admin)
