The Light Over London is a quite delightful story. Told in alternating voices, one in the present and one during WWII, both from an English perspective, we see two women who have loved, been hurt and learn whether or not they can love again.
Two women, Cara (present day) and Louise (past), have tense relationships. Cara is putting her life back together after a divorce and Louise's future is all planned out for her by her bitter mother. Both women are looking for more, for some meaning in their lives. What starts out as a simple discovery of a war photo leads to an unraveling story through the years.
The Light Over London in similar in time and style to the recent bestseller The Nightingale, although maybe not as dramatic. If historical fiction and romance are your cup of tea, then this book should be on your list. - Rosanna (Admin)
