Take an art gallery walk and discover new forms of art at the Non-Traditional Art Expo! Join us on Saturday, September 21, starting at 12:00 p.m. at the Downtown Chandler Library.
The library is a natural place for art, and we have invited local artists to display works that may not be generally thought of as "traditional" art. With assistance from the Vision Gallery here in Chandler as well as the Arizona Commission on the Arts, a call went out to artists who might want to display in a new setting. 13 local artists are slated to display works that you might not find in a traditional art museum; they use different mediums and materials, and their final products are sometimes interactive. They will also participate in a panel discussion about their inspirations and techniques. This discussion is optional but will be a great way to learn more about their inspiration, techniques and subjects. This event is open to all ages and to anyone who has an interest in art or may be an aspiring artist!
Some of the featured art and artists include KellyAnn Bonnell’s fiber art, Jose Benavidea’s creations from discarded items, Sue Norton-Scott’s mixed media canvases, and Sheizign’s refurbished glassware art.
The gallery walk will take place from 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. followed by the artists panel from 3:00 - 4:00 p.m. No registration necessary.
