Do you experience stress in your life? Are you looking for ways to help cope with stress? Positive management of stress is one of the primary ways people live happy and healthy lives. Stress reduction is about finding positive techniques that identify and address both the physical and mental stress and the identification of the cause. Join wellness coordinator Kara Boley at the Downtown Chandler Library on Saturday, November 9 at 10:00 a.m. to learn how to Escape the Stress.
We will practice mindful breathing techniques and movements and some easy-to-do stretches that you can fit into the busy holiday season. The holiday season is full of celebrations and joy, but can also add a variety of stressors to our normal routine. Participants will leave the session with a few practical techniques to help reduce stress responses.
Why is stress management important? Stress management is imperative to living a healthy life. If our stress is out of control, we oftentimes miss out on quality sleep, become irritable and fatigued. Unmanaged stress can lead to high blood pressure, anxiety, pain in muscles and joints and a lowered immune response, which means more colds, flu and just feeling "under the weather".
