It’s tax time, and your library can help. The Chandler Public Library will be hosting the AARP Tax Assistance Program, February 3 through April 15 at our Downtown Library. Assistance is given on a first come, first served basis. Hours are Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and Wednesdays 4 to 8 p.m. For information about what to bring and other frequently asked questions, please visit the AARP tax site.
Additionally, in collaboration with Mesa United Way, the VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program, which provides free tax preparation to low- and moderate-income taxpayers, the elderly, and those with disabilities, will also be offered at our Hamilton Library. Assistance will be available on Mondays, 4:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. and Tuesdays, 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., January 27 through April 14, with the exception of Monday, February 17, President’s Day.
Select federal tax forms will be available at the Downtown Chandler Library, but instructional booklets will not be available. Arizona State tax forms are no longer printed for bulk distribution; we will not have any available. Find tax forms online at the IRS website and the Arizona State Department of Revenue website. More links to tax-related websites are listed at our Taxes page.
