Summer Reading is on! This year’s Summer Reading Challenge will be held online. You can sign up for your account now, then start logging your reading time on June 1. Read as much as you want before August 1, then come into the library in August to pick up your prizes!
It’s easy to participate: read 20 minutes a day, log your time and earn your prizes. 1 minute of reading equals 1 point, and you can check out books to read, read your own books, use audiobooks, get ebooks at home through CloudLibrary or Tumblebooks – any kind of reading counts, even being read to (for our youngest library users)! When you reach 1000 points, you earn a free book and you’re automatically entered into a raffle drawing. Check out our SRC webpage to view the list of prizes. This year’s theme is “Imagine Your Story,” so get started on a fun, online, summer reading adventure.
There’s even more to do online! Complete challenges, earn badges and even enjoy virtual programming – you can do it all at MaricopaCountyReads.org, the official site of the Summer Reading Challenge.
