In case you missed it: the Summer Reading Challenge is on – online! Sign up for your account at MaricopaCountyReads.org and track your points there. Read as much as you want before August 15, then come into the library in August to pick up your prizes.
It’s easy to participate: read 20 minutes a day, log your time and earn your prizes. 1 minute of reading equals 1 point, and you can check out books to read, read your own books, use audiobooks, get ebooks at home through CloudLibrary or Tumblebooks – any kind of reading counts, even being read to (for our youngest library users)! When you reach 1000 points, you earn a free book and you’re automatically entered into a raffle drawing. Check out our SRC webpage to view the list of prizes.
This year’s theme is "Imagine Your Story." Looking for some thematic book suggestions? Check out our lists of fantasy and fairy tale inspired books for kids, teens and adults. But don't worry if fantasy isn't your cup of tea – you can read whatever you like! See our Books page and our 0-5, Kids and Teen pages for even more reading suggestions.
There's even more to do in your online Summer Reading Challenge account! Complete challenges, earn badges and even enjoy virtual programming – weekly video events including Childsplay Theatre Company's variety show, Superhero Science from the Arizona Science Center and Tunes & Tales from the Phoenix Symphony.
Don't miss out! Sign up today if you haven't already and keep reading! The Summer Reading Challenge ends August 15.
