You may not think of your local library when looking for cooking resources, but you might be excited to find that Chandler Libraries have a variety of resources to help you become the chef you were destined to be!
From Ina Garten and Gordon Ramsey, to other famous cookbook authors like Chrissy Teigen and Freddie Prinze Jr., our shelves are well-stocked with cookbooks by chefs of all kinds! Here are a few different lists with some of our faves. Check them out and place holds with your library card:
If magazines are typically your go-to, we got you covered! With the Flipster app, you can read magazines on your computer, tablet or smart phone – all for free! Browse current and back issues of digital magazines like Food Network and Bon Appetit. We also have PressReader, which includes a large variety of food and drink magazines, such as Delish, Cuisine At Home and Baking Heaven. PressReader has more than 6,000 newspapers and magazines from all over the world, covering subjects of all kinds.
If you have not checked out Kanopy yet, this is the perfect time. With Kanopy, your library card gets you up to ten film credits per month and access to one of the largest film collections out there. Watch classics, foreign films, documentaries and even blockbuster movies. If you are interested in learning more about the food industry, nutrition and the lives of inspiring chefs, check out the Food Technology section. There is even a 6-part series from The Great Courses on “The Everyday Gourmet: Making Great Meals in Less Time.”
